AUTUMN/WINTER 2013
For Fall 2013, Spratters & Jayne takes a romantic look at form and silhouette borrowing a bit from fashion's past while projecting a unique and visionary perspective on the new modernity. A sense of both fantasy and nostalgia pervade the collection, as classic shapes are reimagined for a bold, streamlined future.
The 2013 collection was largely inspired by the iconic “20s in the 1960s” look of vintage Biba, the hugely influential London-based store that defined that decade’s “swinging” look and gave rise to numerous fashion icons - from the miniskirt to Vogue’s Anna Wintour. The 2013 Spratters & Jayne line is similarly both mod and romantic, with nods to both glam rock and Art Nouveau. The moody, dramatic collection features deep berry and jewel tones, including vivid peacock and rich oxblood, as well as classic earth tones of taupe and charcoal.
The luxurious Peruvian Highland Wool and exceptionally soft 100% pure Alpaca that have become mainstays for Spratters & Jayne are joined this season by a new, exclusive blend of 50/50 Acrylic and Alpaca, and richly-textured handspun yarn from India.
Every piece continues to be made in cooperation with artisan owned and operated groups from around the globe - yet another way Spratters & Jayne is considering the future of fashion- sustainability.
